50. Matt Fox
Starting Pitcher
Throws: Right
Age: 26
Estimated Time of Arrival: 2011
Potential: #5 starter or long relief man
2010 outlook: Should be in AAA Rochester’s rotation, or the bullpen
Matt Fox was drafted in the 2004 draft as a supplemental first round draft pick. He missed the entire 2005 year because of a shoulder injury. Last year he made 26 starts for AA New Britain. He pitched over 150 innings and went 9-9 with a 3.58 ERA and a 1.32 WHIP. He struck out 120 batters. Fox could have been in Minnesota right now if it weren’t for his shoulder injury. He was arguably the best pitcher for the New Britain Rock Cats this year. The biggest problem he has is his age. He will turn 27 this December.
